Gas is clean
Gas is the cleanest fuel and creates the least amount of greenhouse gas emissions. When burned, gas does not produce any ash, dust, smoke or odours. Gas also releases up to 50% less carbon dioxide than coal and 20%-30% less than oil. As a result, the use of natural gas in power generation reduces carbon emissions, improves air quality and provides a cleaner alternative to Heavy Fuel Oils (HFOs).
