Gaz du Cameroun is a committed energy partner to the Republic of Cameroon, focused on providing energy products to industries and the electricity grid within Douala.
To date, our company has spent over US$245m providing the means to supply businesses within Douala with a range of cost-effective, safe and efficient energy products, which help drive manufacturing processes and provide electric power.
Through the sinking of two deep gas wells within Douala itself, we have unlocked the potential for domestic gas usage from the valuable energy resource sealed deep within the earth’s crusts. Using World class technologies, we extract Cameroon gas and produce different products to meet our customers’ needs. With over 49km of underground gas pipe laid within Douala and across to the Bonaberi shore, GDC can provide companies with a burnable fuel source or their own power generation solutions.

Thermal
The growth of our thermal gas business has been phenomenal in the last two years of operation, as we work with clients providing burnable gas to drive manufacturing processes. Our engineering and consultancy teams, can help individual customers forecast potential costs savings and efficiencies through gas usage, in comparison to existing fuel substances. We don’t just compete on direct price against fuels such as HFO but also in terms of maintenance and cleaning costs. Remember; gas is a cleaner energy source than liquid fuels, with no storage, heating or pumping costs and is better for valuable equipment such as boilers. The GDC engineering teams will also help you plan and implement a changeover to gas with the minimum delay to operations.
Local Power
We work with businesses in Cameroon to meet their needs for constant supply of electricity. Our gas is piped to customer operations and used to fuel gas fired electricity generation sets installed at site. Our Local Power solution provides businesses with 24/7 power with no outages, thus enabling continuous industrial production even during the dry season.
Grid Power
GDC is a proud partner of Cameroon’s national energy supply strategy. In collaboration with ENEO, we are working to supply gas to the Bassa and Logbaba power stations in Douala, helping to provide the region with affordable, consistent electricity.
Condensate
Cameroon’s gas is rich in liquid gas, or condensate. As part of our operations we recover condensate and supply it to Cameroon’s largest refinery; SONARA, for use in blended fuels.
Douala is one of the most vibrant hubs of Central and West Africa, providing an excellent operating environment for industries to create and distribute products across Africa and the world. New Gas Expansion
At the end of 2016, GDC began drilling two new wells at the Logbaba operations site to potentially capture more gas for sale.
